Visit Bullitt County

Entertainment for the whole family is what you will find directly South of Louisville, at convenient exits right off I-65 in Shepherdsville – Bullitt County, Kentucky.

Check out the state’s official arboretum, Bernheim Forest. Hear the echoes of days gone by as the 16,000 acre forest with more than 15 miles of hiking trails tells stories of central Kentucky’s native plants and animals. Bring a picnic, or try Isaac’s Café in the eco-friendly Visitor Center.

Bullitt County serves as a Gateway to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. A visit to the James B. Beam American Outpost will give you a lesson on America’s only native spirit – Bourbon. From moonshine to modern manufacturing, you will also get an up-close and personal look into the distilling process as you hear stories about America’s first family of bourbon. While there, make sure to enjoy your choice of many unique dishes at The Kitchen Table Restaurant.

If something a little sweeter than bourbon is your taste, Bullitt County boasts four spectacular wineries: Brooks Hill Winery, Forest Edge Winery, MillaNova Winery & Wight-Meyer Winery, offering award-winning wines in a cozy, relaxing atmosphere.

The whole family will enjoy Kart Kountry, America’s longest Go-Kart Track. Add the Arcade Games, an exciting round of Miniature Golf or the Bumper Boats and you are sure to make memories to last a lifetime. If golf is your forte, come and take a swing at one of three public Golf Courses.
